Janome Overedge/Overcast C Foot with Brush, 7mm

Use with an overcasting stitch to allow the thread to wrap around the edge of the fabric to prevent unraveling. The foot guides the fabric and keeps your edges flat by compensating for the lack of friction with a small brush when the needles makes the right-most stitch. Particularly good for finishing off medium to heavyweight, easily frayed woven fabrics such as tweed, gabardine, and linen. This is undoubtedly a foot that should be included in the standard equipment of the machine of every sewing person and should be used each time to protect the edge of the fabric against fraying (ripping). The foot not only allows to obtain an aesthetic stitch, but also indicates to the sewing person how to guide the fabric (at what distance) so that the stitch created by the machine is of equal width and created on the very edge of the fabric, i.e. in accordance with the art of tailoring. The overlock stitch foot C is specially designed so that you get a finish on the edges of your fabric similar to the finish of an overlock stitch. An overedge Foot to finish off raw edges on seams can be an "alternative' to using a serger/overlocker.

NOTE: This foot is sold by itself, without blister packaging.

This accessory will fit on Janome machines in Category B, C-1 & C-2: Top loading machines (7mm max stitch width - low/high shank)
